BISHOP LAYS FR'S HOUSE FOUNDATION @ DIVINE MERCY, SAKI; BLESSES THE TABERNACLE AT THE CONVENT
Sunday 25th January, 2015 was a joyful and memorable day for the Parish Priest of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Saki, Rev. Fr. Joshua Oluwatoba Benedict, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters, members of CMO, CWO, NACC, NFCS as well as Students and Pupils of Christ the King group of Schools as they all welcomed the Chief Shepherd of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo to the foundation laying ceremony of their Father’s house and the blessing of the Tabernacle in IHM Sisters’ Chapel.
The two events began with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by his lordship. In his Homily, Bishop Badejo emphasized on the need for Christians to practice repentance and change from evil to good, from sinfulness to holiness like the people of Nineveh the first reading taken from the book of prophet Jonah 3:1-5;10. Quoting from the second reading (1Corinthians 7:29-31), He encouraged the people of God to persevere, avoid distractions and pay more attention to the things of God because the form of this word is passing away. Finally, He admonished them to follow Christ, and be people of goodwill so as to receive abundant blessing from God who is the source of all goodness.
Immediately after the final blessing, the Bishop, accompanied by Fr. Joshua Benedict led the people of God to the site of the Father’s house.
Bishop Badejo prayed and laid the foundation of the father’s house. He also asked Fr. Joshua, representative of IHM Sisters, CMO, CWO, NFCS, NACC, and Christ the King group of Schools to pray and lay foundation of the house accordingly.
Soon after that, the Solemn blessing of the Tabernacle in the IHM Sister’s Chapel was done by His lordship.
May God continue to bless His Church, The Bishop, Priests, Religious and all members of Catholic Diocese of Oyo.
