Women Religious in Oyo Diocese have been urged to live life of repentance, Renewal and conversion
The National Council of Women Religious, Oyo State Chapter held her 2015 Lenten recollection at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Saki, Oyo State on the Saturday, 7th March, 2015.
The programme began with moments of silence, Holy Hour then followed by a talk delivered by Sr. Roseline Ogunbanwo. During the talk titled “The Theology, Liturgy and Spirituality of the Lenten Season”, Sr. Roseline said that Lent is intelligible and necessary only in the light of its climax which is Easter because without the Resurrection of Christ there wouldn’t have been anything like Lent.
She emphasized that lent is a call to conversion also that fasting, prayer and alms-giving are very important during this season of Hope.
During the Holy Mass, the Homilist, Rev. Fr. Peter Agboola said that the prodigal Son left the presence of His Father for a distant country and so this is what we do each time we sin; we move away from God (Our Father) once we fall into sin.
The President of Oyo Diocesan Chapter of NCWR, Sr. Agnes thanked all present and she encouraged young Men and Women to join the vocation so as to help in the spreading of good news.
Also Present at the retreat were Rev. Frs. Jude Egba CMF, Joshua Benedict, Agboola Gabriel and Agbola Peter; the SSMA Sisters, Franciscan Sisters, St. Louis’ Sisters, IHM Sisters, the Catechist, Parishioners of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Saki and Members of NFCS, Saki Chapter.
