No one has nothing to offer – Fr Francis Oladiipo tells widows
“No matter how little, we all have something to offer. Be it time, words and strength. We must therefore never hesitate to do so” Rev Fr Dr Francis Oladiipo – the Secretary of Bishop Babatunde Adelakun Foundation (BAF) said this during his homily at the Foundation’s annual Christmas party celebration for widows and widowers on Thursday 27th of December, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, Oyo in a mass co-celebrated by Bishop Emeritus Julius Adelakun (the founder) and Fr John Alayande.
He urged them to continually carry their crosses just like the death of their spouses that has made the load of two to be for one person and that no matter the situation, we should believe in the resurrection of Jesus who is the power of Christians. Special prayers were also offered for the widows and widowers who were present at the previous year but during the course of the year and for all the deceased.
The reception took place at Bishop Adelakun Hall after the Holy Mass. There was Health talk by Mr Anthony Adetoro on how to manage one’s health after the death of spouse, coping and adapting with the sudden change, the proper way to exercise and many more. The talk was followed by series of questions and clarifications. Free medical test/check up by medical personnel took place while the talk was going on. The widows and widowers who were almost 200 (Christians and non-Christians) benefitted from free drugs, food items and many others that were distributed to them.
