CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE ON YOUR 25TH EPISCOPAL ORDINATION ANNIVERSARY

Together with the Bishop, Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, Priests, Consecrated Persons and Lay faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, I congratulate our beloved,
Most Rev. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin, the Metropolitan See of Ibadan Province & Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, this day as you celebrate your silver jubilee as a Bishop.
Jubilee Years are special years in the life of any being. 25, being the first of the jubilee years will ever remain special in one’s memory.
Your call to a higher form of service 25years ago has yielded enormous harvest in all areas of the life of the Church. Ceaselessly and unflinchingly, you have sowed the seed of Christianity and Catholicism, beginning from Osogbo Diocese to Ibadan Archdiocese and beyond. The various seeds planted and scattered like the sower fell on different soils. But for those who fell on rich soil, you should know that they have grown to become big trees where lukewarm hearts and unbelieving souls find haven and are transformed to good Christians and Catholics.

In your motto: “ife bori ohun gbogbo” (love conquers all), I encourage you to continue to find your strength, especially as you lead and shepherd on in love, seeking the lost sheep of your fold and those seeds that have fallen on the wrong soil due to many challenging circumstances. In love you will surely succeed.
Your Grace, as you look back to the last 25 years in thanksgiving and gratitude to God, who has chosen you, I urge you to look to the future with more vigour and strength as you lead after the heart of Christ. May God who has called and chosen you always lead you on. May His Holy Spirit never depart from you and may our Mother, Mary continue to intercede for you.

Once again, I congratulate you. I wish you more fulfilling and gracious reign in your episcopacy.
