ST. JULIUS OKE-IDAWO CLOCKS 10, BLESSES TABERNACLE, LAYS FOUNDATION

When a man looks into a mirror, the image not only reflects who he is today, but it also reveals who he used to be. Although, appearances change, many of the underlying characteristics remain the same. This is true for the parishioners of St. Julius Catholic Church as they celebrate their 10th anniversary and reflect on who they are and who they have been. The celebration was in many folds as they also blessed a newly erected tabernacle and laid the foundation at their outstation, St. Christopher Catholic Church, Ogbaokuta.
And so, on the 26th of July, 2020, the faithful gathered with Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Rev. Fr. Joachim Taye Alade, their Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Adejumo, the Dean of Iseyin Deanery, as well as some other priests in the town to share in their joy and express their gratitude to God for the celebration.
In the Holy Mass that had the Bishop as the chief celebrant, the new tabernacle that has a unique and exceptional look was blessed. In his homily, Bishop Badejo whose words and message speak wisdom, which was evident in his words used to reaffirm that the strength of the church is found only in the Holy Eucharist. Though, the Blessed Sacrament could be invisible, the invisible exerts an outstanding vigour.
During thanksgiving, the lay faithful cheerfully danced to the altar and before the end of the Mass, Fr. Alade, the parish priest was rechristened “Mojere” meaning “I reaped” by the Bishop because he is the lucky one reaping the labour of the past Parish Priests who were there before him.
Basking in the euphoria of the celebration, different presentations were displayed by some of the organizations in the church where one of them took the pain of taking everyone through the historical trajectory of the church. The whole event was spiced up with the availability of different dishes which were consumed with all relish as well as the cutting of cake. Conclusively, the vote of thanks that was delivered by Rev. Fr. Anthony Adepoju was on a note of admonishment that the community should strive to be more committed because they can be sure that the task ahead is weightier. Greater than expected, the event was remarkable.
