A short but laudable celebration was organized by the Catholic Bishop of Oyo diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Badejo on behalf of the entire diocese for the Metropolitan See of the Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Most Rev. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin as he marks another landmark of 25 years of his Episcopal Ordination at the Jubilee House Chapel, Oyo on Thursday, 14th May, 2020 with some few representatives due to covid-19 pandemic.
In his homily, Fr. Boniface Wuraola rejoiced with His Grace on his 25th year anniversary as a Priest, Bishop and a loving father who has conquered all things with love and truly depicting his episcopacy motto, love conquers all. Thus, he added, “Honestly, no other motto fits your episcopacy than the one you chose, love conquers all, you have truly conquered all things with love.”
He further explained that the last 25 years of his mission in Osogbo diocese and Ibadan archdiocese were the testimonies of his love for Christ and His church, and it worth celebrating. He made it known that the Bishops are called to take place of the apostles in the present generation and to be witnesses to the resurrection of Christ as the apostles did.
While appreciating the efforts made by Bishop Badejo for celebrating him in a special way despite the covid-19 pandemic ravaging our world today, Archbishop Abegunrin thanked Msgr Yakubu, Fr. Wuraola, the homilist, Fr Isola, Sr Ikufisile and the younger ones for their show of love.
