The Church in Oyo diocese continues to respond faithfully to the evangelical injunction, to go out to the world and proclaim the good news. This is why it is newsworthy to report that another milestone achievement was recorded in the Ijio-Meso axis of Oyo diocese, precisely at Ayegun-Wasinmi, where the mission house which is under construction was roofed. It has been a long desire of the Catholics in this community to have the presence of a priest among them. Hence, both the old and young in the community could not hide their joy as their dream is gradually coming to reality. With the roofing of the Mission House, which was done with a great support from the diocese and commitment of the people, a new face of pastoral life is gradually opening in the community. The members cannot wait to complete the structure, have a priest live among them, so that they can also reach out to other communities.
Ayegun-Wasinmi is the border town between Nigeria and Republic of Benin Republic. It has been an outstation of St. Theresas Ijio.
