BISHOP BADEJO BLESSES NEW TRACTOR FOR JDPM

It was another laudable landmark as the Catholic Diocese of Oyo through the Justice Development and Peace Movement (JDPM) bought a brand new tractor blessed by His Lordship – Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo on Wednesday, 8th July 2020 at the Bishop’s Office around 12pm. Bishop Badejo in his words said, ” the social intervention of the church in the community development can never be underrated as it is not a one sided thing but one that embraces all others in love”. “With the procurement of the machine, a multipurpose one to say, there is no doubt that the agricultural activities within the diocese will be boosted”, he added.
He encouraged everyone to always help others to live well and to hope well even if the hope seems lost. He also made it known that with the availability of the machine which the government has failed to make available for the people, greater things will be achieved for farmers most importantly. Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Francis Oladiipo, Very Rev Fr Boniface Wuraola and Rev Fr Ferdinand Olabode who had all served as JDPM Coordinators in times past, were all coincidentally present during the blessing. They thanked God for the gift of life and His Lordship for the progress recorded so far in making their dreams come true part of which was the erection of the shopping complex, bank, office and procurement of the tractor!
Fr. Gabriel Adeleke, the current Coordinator in his remarks expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God and also to the Bishop who has been challenging and drilling them in getting better innovations as far as JDPM is concerned. The projects so far, he said, will be of great impact on the lives of the farmers as there is not even a single tractor that hands could be laid upon almost in the whole of Oyo town and its environs coupled with the stress of getting it leased out by the private owners as it seems the government is not so much bothered about. He also appreciated the efforts of his team so far, Rev. Sr. Victoria Dada SSMA, the Manager of Ave Maria Multipurpose Investment Limited and others who had been the brain behind the innovations, he prayed for more of such in the diocese.
