JDPM HOSTS DIALOGUE AND PARTNERSHIP SERVICE (DPS) IN OYO

The Justice Development and Peace Movement (JDPM) Oyo, hosted Mr Andreas Wahler, the Nigeria’s representative of Misereor through the Dialogue and Partnership Service (DPS) on April 5, 2019 at Mabolaje, Oyo. The purpose of his visit was to meet with the staff of the organization and to discuss pertinent issues on the relationship between JDPM and Misereor.
Welcoming the guest, the Coordinator, JDPM Oyo, Rev Fr Gabriel Adeleke, appreciated his visitation and applauded the long time relationship between Misereor and JDPM Oyo in project partnership, stressing that the activities of Misereor in developmental projects across Nigeria, Africa and beyond deserves an accolade.
Responding, Mr. Andreas Wahler from Misereor Nigeria’s Office Abuja, expressed his satisfaction at what JDPM is doing. He said every society need an organization where many developmental activities needs to be carried out for an holistic development because government cannot do everything for the citizens, adding that the relationship between Misereor and JDPM is beyond donor-beneficiaries because it has led to fusion of ideas and unison of direction cum capacity building of staff in project writing and resource mobilization. He assured JDPM of Misereor’s readiness to always partner with the organization on projects.
Each Department represented by the Programme manager/Head of Department (HOD); Rural Development Programme (RUDEP) and Politics and Human Rights (PHR), later presented their project activities on Microsoft Power Point where many key issues were thoroughly analysed and assessed for proper rectification.
In her vote of thank, the Administrative Officer, JDPM Oyo, Sister Victoria Dada (SSMA), appreciated Misereor for their trust and confidence in the organization as well as their cooperation on project funding. She charged Mr Andreas to use his office to explore other programmes by the Deparments especially, the Politics and Human Rights (PHR) who presently runs a project on Child Rights Education in Basic Schools in Oyo State as well as tapping into the activities of Women in Politics (WIP) in the Catholic Diocese of Oyo.
